Penile curvature explained and how can penis devices correct penile curves
It is very common for every man to have a small hang or slight curve to their penis.
The sad news is that out of 100,000 men close to 400 has a condition where the erect penis is severely curved or bent making intercourse painful for both partner or not possible at all.
Some men may have a penis that is shaped like a J, a U, or even a corkscrew when erect. This issue is known as fibrous caverositis, which is nothing more than the description of the issue in which there is scar tissue built up in layers of the cavernosa, medically the condition is known as Peyronies Disease.
Impossible to determine the roots of the disease
Of course, physicians do not agree as to the cause of Peyronies Disease. There is evidence though that shows scar tissue or inelastic plague has replaced the elastic tissue of that area of the penis. When an erection occurs the elastic tissue in a penis expands in a kind of symmetrically way which produces a straight erection.
Scar tissue on the other hand is not pliable and will stay in once play, which results in a severe bend or curvature of the penis. If the scar tissue encompasses around the penis the result can be pinching or what is known as bottleneck or possibly a shortening of the penis.
This condition often occurs from forced bending which could have been caused from trauma, injury, or inflammation of the erect penis. A few men have even developed Peyronies Disease after trying various erectile dysfunction injections like a drug called Caverject.
Doctors believe that other medical conditions may also bring on Peyronies Disease, which can include diabetes, high blood pressure, hardening of the arteries, or other rare genetic conditions. The most common thought however, is trauma, which resulted in abnormal or slow bleeding.
Most popular treatment : penis device+vitamins
The most popular treatment you can do on your own that has been well documented comes in the form of penis traction devices along with combing with Vitamin E therapy.
These corrective devices have seen marked improvement by applying consistent traction that will counteract the hardening of the scar tissue while helping to build the straight erection.
The penis device is discreetly worn under your clothing even while at work if you are in a low exertion position, but the device will need to be worn for months.
This device is used at this time in Europe and the United States for post penis surgery patients for proper healing as well as recommended as an alternative to corrective surgery.
The upside to traction devices is positive – low cost, no side effects, at home treatment without trauma or surgery. Along with this device, most men also supplement with Vitamin E, which was studied in the 40’s and 50’s for effectiveness for penile curvature.
Another supplement often recommended for Peyronies Disease is Potaba or potassium amonobenzoate, which has proven to be beneficial, but it can be costly at 24 pills per day for six months.
You can find all kinds of prescriptions for supplements and oral medication for Peyronies Disease. Just remember, you should speak with your doctor before using any medication or supplement.
Other treatments of penile curvatures take time and can be risky
Treatment is different for each person with Peyronies Disease as each person and their symptoms and erection issues are different.
Some men believe surgery is the only answer, however, doctors will ask each patient to give it some time before choosing this method with the wait up to one to two years.
While waiting or making a decision on surgery, many men have tried other treatments using surgery as the last options (want to understand why then just search for penile curvature surgery – but be forewarned the images are graphic but they will make you wait).
After waiting the allotted time within two years, some men have noticed the disappearance of scar tissue. Around 40% see no change, while another 40% see worsening issues.
There are two popular surgeries for this condition, the Nesbit procedure results in a one or two inch shorter penis, while the other replaces the scar tissue from grafted tissue with the result in some cases of partial or complete inability to hold an erection.
The waiting period, if this is the result, is a blessing and a great time to try other treatments prior to choosing surgical procedures.
